Then the shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God
for all the things that they had heard and seen,
as it was told them.
 Luke 2:20

HALLELUJAH! God is with us
in flesh He has come to save us.
PRAISE THE LORD! Jesus, Messiah
lives among us to bring peace.
comes to dwell within our hearts.
HARK THE HERALD! Angels are singing
born to us this newborn King.

Show me how to praise You Lord
no matter the circumstance
Place within my deepest being
a song of Psalm to sing and dance
Be my joy, my hallelujah
in the midst of every suffering
Envelope me in glorious rapture
as I fall upon my knees.
Instruct me how to worship You
just as creation does
Great are You Lord! Greatly to be praised!
Name above all names, Most Holy One,
King of kings, Lord of lords
Let the earth tremble but not one rock cry out for me
Teach me how to worship, praise and sing!

Luke 19:37-40
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. Sing to the Lord with the harp, With the harp and the sound of a psalm, With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King. Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell in it; Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world,
And the peoples with equity.
Psalm 98:4-9
Dear Friends, I couldn't pick just one song!
Sing and Praise the Lord with me!

Thank you for visiting with me this year. I treasure each of you and look forward to many times together in the New Year. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

God as a child humbly came to this earth
Born of a virgin, such a lowly birth
Jesus the Messiah in the flesh came
The ultimate gift of Himself He gave.

At this Christmas time what can I give?
What do I have that is of worth to Him?

I looked at my talents, looked at my dreams
I looked at my life and all that it means
Realization dawned there is nothing fit
Of and in my being to give to Him.

At the foot of the Christmas tree I sit
Bible in my lap, prayer upon my lips
Reading of the Christ child’s birth
Angels singing, shepherd’s bringing
Worship and adoration to this King
I find myself beginning to sing
And as my song rises from a heart of peace
It comes to my mind the gift I can bring.

Jesus, Messiah, Wonderful Counselor, born to die
Whoever believes in this Prince of Peace
Everlasting life you will receive.
It all comes down to this one true thing
One gift that only I can bring
My heart, my love, my faith, my belief
Dear Jesus, this is my gift to You on Your birthday.

Lord, under the tree is the biggest present of all
As I receive the ultimate gift from the greatest Giver
I, in return, place my heart and my life in Your hands

But it is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,
That I may declare all Your works.
Psalm 73:28

Draw me closer to Your side
In Your shadow I want to hide

Let me walk deep in Your footsteps
You are the vine I am the branch

As I sit in front of this Christmas tree
Lead me to worship down on my knees

Wrap me in Your afghan of warmth
Around my shoulders Your love is sure

As I sit basking in sweet memories
May I always remember You came for me

Draw me close to Your manger bed
But don’t let me forget how You bled

In this Christmas time dear Lord
May I remember who You are

The One born to die for me
The One who came to set me free

Move me ever closer to You Lord
Not just now, but forevermore.

"So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.  And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them." Luke 2:15-20

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

It’s been a rough year. For many of us.

I’ve watched throughout this year as several friends have gone through heartache and heartbreak that just crushed my heart for them. There were no words to say. Except, I’m so sorry. And just when it seemed things would settle down and they could catch a breath, another tragedy, another loss, another set of bad news befell them. One step forward, 1,000 steps back.

They are the brave ones. The friends who still smile, they still love, they show us how to continue on when it feels like life is choking the stuffing out of you. I admire them so. I love them even more.

Someone recently asked me what I want for Christmas. And after much thought, here is my greatest wishes:

I want everyone to know my Jesus
the One who died for you and me
For everyone to have the gift
that truly sets us free.

I want to see my family
all gathered round the tree
To not just give each other presents
but the love and grace we need.

I want to see those hurting
find a peace only God can give
So that on this Christmas Day
Their hearts won’t be so sad and dim.

I want to be the person
that reaches out to those in need
Extends the hand of forgiveness
even when it is not asked of me.

I want my dearest friends
who’ve had the ache of loss
To feel our Savior’s arms
around them through this sorrow.

I want so many things like this
it is hard to make a list
But mostly I want for all of you
A very joyful Christmas!

The greatest desire of my heart is that during this Christmas season and through whatever lies ahead for each of you, is that you will feel the gift of God’s presence each and every day. That you will know how wide, how long, how high and how deep the love of Christ is in your life. I pray you will feel His peace and His comfort in every hard situation, and you will rest in His loving arms always.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
Psalm 145:18

Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Psalm 27:14

If God always gave us the answers
as soon as requests left our lips
then we wouldn’t receive the blessing
of waiting for presents from Him.
All good and perfect gifts come from above
But we must wait our turn
And in eager anticipation
Is lessons we need learn.
Don’t lose heart and don’t lose hope
Don’t go sneaking for hidden toys
The time for opening His treasures
Will be in His time and place
Then we will joyfully unwrap His praise!

Christmas is coming. Have you made your list? Checked it twice? The tree twinkles gaily with memories of the past that infuse our present. And here we sit, waiting eagerly for that one special day to open those beautifully wrapped gifts that lay under that tree taunting us with their red bows and snowman tags.  To you from me. Whatever could it be?  Just a little, teeny, tiny, itty, bitty, teensy weensy peek...won’t hurt...will it?

Waiting is hard work

Not just for life changing, life altering answers

It’s also in the anticipation of the good

The gifts that we are longing for.

We want it now - we know it is in the closet on the top shelf

Just a peek, please Lord?

We eagerly await for the day that we get that special gift, the blessing we’ve been waiting for.

Because waiting is hard work

It calls for patience and self-control on our part - because -

Opening the gift ahead of time, searching for the hiding place, and seeing what has been lovingly bought before they’ve had a chance to surprise us with it, keeps us from enjoying and appreciating that long awaited gift as much as we could have if we’d waited.

Yeah, waiting is hard work

But the reward and blessing we find when we open our gift from God is sweeter and better than anything we could imagine. His timing is always perfect. Always. He makes everything beautiful in HIS time.

I don’t know what you are waiting on from God right now but I do know this:

That even though waiting is hard work, it is also God’s way of making the beautiful happen in life. It is always worth the wait.
~ Lord, may we wait on You with our whole hearts with praise and thanksgiving. May we seek You and worship You not just in the bad times, but in the good times as well. For we know that all gifts from You are good and perfect when we wait in Your timing to unwrap them. ~

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.  James 1:17
